Getting there
The nearest town is Kapchorwa and Mbale, eastern Uganda. Fly into Entebbe International (EBB), then 5–6 hours by road. Sipi River Lodge works well combined with 10 Days Uganda Waterfalls & Gorillas, 14 Days Grand Waterfalls of Africa: Murchison to Victoria.
Things to do from Sipi River Lodge
The three Sipi Falls can all be reached on foot in a guided half-day or full-day hike, past caves and farmland. Coffee tours with local farmers, abseiling beside the main fall and longer hikes on the lower slopes of Mount Elgon are all close. Mbale town is about an hour away, and Jinja about three and a half hours.
How long to stay
Two nights gives you a day for the falls hike and a morning for the coffee tour. Sipi Falls: April–May and August–November for full falls; December–February for dry trails.
