Location

Getting there

The nearest town is Masindi; Paraa ferry crossing inside the park. Fly into Entebbe International (EBB), then road (5–6 hours) or charter to Pakuba or Bugungu airstrips. Paraa Safari Lodge works well combined with 3 Days Murchison Falls Safari, 10 Days Uganda Waterfalls & Gorillas.

Things to do from Paraa Safari Lodge

The Buligi game circuits, the best area for lions, giraffes and large herds, are about 30 minutes' drive away. The launch trip to the foot of the falls leaves from Paraa, close to the lodge, as does the ferry across the Nile. The top of the falls is about an hour by road on the south bank, and Budongo Forest, for chimpanzee tracking, is around an hour and a half.

How long to stay

Two nights covers a game drive, the launch trip and the top of the falls. Three lets you add the delta cruise for shoebills or chimpanzees in Budongo. Murchison Falls: Year-round flow; December–February and June–September for the driest game drives.
