Getting there

The nearest town is Masindi; Paraa ferry crossing inside the park. Fly into Entebbe International (EBB), then road (5–6 hours) or charter to Pakuba or Bugungu airstrips. Murchison River Lodge works well combined with 4 Days Murchison Falls & Budongo Chimpanzees, 2 Days Murchison Falls Safari.

Things to do from Murchison River Lodge

The Paraa ferry to the northern game circuits is a short drive away, and the top of the falls is about 45 minutes to an hour by road. The launch trips to the falls and the delta leave from Paraa. Budongo Forest and Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary lie on the road from Kampala.

How long to stay

Two or three nights covers a game drive, the launch trip and the top of the falls. Murchison Falls: Year-round flow; December–February and June–September for the driest game drives.
